About

I build kitchens, tile, and finish work from a homestead outside Cochrane, Ontario.

I started in a cabinet shop at eighteen, through a high-school co-op. I learned finishing, built doors, assembled boxes, and helped install kitchens. After co-op I went to work at Stutzman’s Woodcraft, a Mennonite shop. I was hired as a finisher. When the door bench fell behind, they pulled me off the spray gun to build kitchen doors. I built a lot of them.

Around that same time I made a simple Excel program that took a door’s height and width and spit out every piece length on the cut list. That is still how I work: measure carefully, cut from a list, and do not guess.

I completed Cabinet Manufacturing and Techniques at Canadore College in North Bay. By the time I was twenty, I had already built five or six kitchens of my own.

Edmonton is where the carpentry started. Framing, point loads, and how a building actually stands up. Cabinetry taught me the door. Carpentry taught me the structure behind the room. I brought both home.

Several years ago, I opened a 1,500 square foot cabinet shop. Four kitchens came out of that shop, along with the renovations that came with the work. I sold the shop in November 2025, bought a place in just outside Cochrane, and set up a homestead. I am coming back to kitchens on purpose.

I am no longer taking attics or foundation work. That work needs someone willing to do it. It does not need someone who can sit at a table, pull a kitchen out of your head, and build doors so the grain matches what showed up when the panel was sanded. If a piece of trim does not fit, I cut a new one. I do not fill the gap with caulk and move on.

Kitchens

Anybody can build a box. Not everyone can build the door. I build both. Soft-close hardware, pull-outs, a maple trash tray that works the way you hoped it would. Not particle-core boxes from a catalogue. Built in my shop, loaded in the trailer, and installed on your walls.

Tile

A floor or a shower is a picture. The pieces have to flow. If you want coverage by the square foot, I am not the right person. If you want the kitchen to continue onto the floor and into the shower, I am.

Finish work

Casing, base, jambs, crown, and ceilings people will actually sit under. This work stays local. The joint has to belong on the wall.

You work with me from the first conversation through install. If another trade is needed, I will arrange it and you pay that invoice directly.

Kitchens: Cochrane, Iroquois Falls, Smooth Rock Falls, Hearst, Timmins, Matheson, and Temiskaming Shores.

Tile and trim packages: Cochrane and nearby. A kitchen can travel. A whole-house trim package stays close to home.
