Anybody can build a box. Not everyone can build the door.

What you get

I build custom kitchen cabinets in my shop. The boxes are plywood. I mill and finish the doors myself — soft-close hardware, pull-outs, and details like a maple trash tray that works the way you thought it would. This is not a particle-core kitchen from a catalogue.

I work best with people who already know what they want. If you have been living with this kitchen in your head and saving for it, that is the job.

How a kitchen starts

When I can, I come to the house, sit with you in the room, and measure the walls, openings, heights, and the space you actually have.

If you are farther away — Timmins, Hearst, Temiskaming Shores — we can start without me in the driveway. You send photos. I walk you through a measure on the phone while someone holds the other end of the tape. I leave a little extra in the numbers so the kitchen still fits if the tape was not perfect. Layout, doors, and the 3D drawing can all be done from that.

I still come to check the measurements before anything is cut.

If the job is a kitchen renovation, not just new cabinets in an empty opening, I want to stand in the room before a contract is signed. I can price from photos and a tape measure. The signature waits until I have seen the space.

You then get a 3D drawing in Chief Architect. It is a read-only view of the kitchen, not a shop drawing full of numbers. If that looks right, you get a quote: cost, material, and what is included. If you say go, it becomes a contract.

Paying for the cabinets

Cabinets have their own contract and their own payments. That money is not mixed with a plumber or a renovation.

• 50% deposit when you sign. It is not refundable. That money buys your material. If you cancel, the material is already yours. I cannot return it.

• 35% before the kitchen leaves the shop.

• 15% when the install is finished, you have walked through it, and you sign off.

If the job is a full kitchen renovation, that is a second contract with its own payment schedule. A plumber who moves a sink bills you directly. I will call them and book the day. That invoice is not my work.

The old kitchen

You can tear it out yourself. You do not pay me for that. If you want me to remove the old kitchen and set the new one, I will.

Built here, installed there

I build the boxes and doors in the shop, finish them in the spray booth, load them in the trailer, and install them on your walls. A few days on site, then I am done.
